Pino Pinelli
Pino Pinelli (b. 1938) is an Italian artist born in Catania, Sicily. Inspired by the slightly older Zero artists, his work encapsulates the desire of the era to modify the state of traditional painting.

By creating mixed media geometric foms, Pinelli excludes the presence of the canvas in its typical form yet still alluding to the idea of a painting. His work often consists of multiple brightl monochromatic elements, which are designed to hang on a wall in order to give the impression of a deconstructed canvas. By combining simple geometric shapes and essential primary colors, Pinelli has devised a unique for mof art that cannot be easily categorized and serves as a powerful minimalist statement.

His work has been exhibited Internationally since the late 1960s, notably at the Institute of Italian Culture (London), the National Gallery of Modern Art (Rome), and the Venice Biennale in 1987 and 1997.

Pinelli currently lives and works in Milan.
